Balıkesir University Altınoluk Vocational School was opened by the decision of the Council of Higher Education (Y.Ö.K.) General Assembly dated October 16, 2007. Altınoluk Vocational School began its education in the 2007-2008 academic year with 51 students: 15 in the Department of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and 36 in the Department of Computer Technologies and Programming, with an additional quota. Including the newly opened Chemical Technologies Program for the 2008-2009 academic year, it currently offers three departments, each with one program. Programs available at our school include Computer Programming, Chemical Technologies, and Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.
Our vocational school is 25 km from the district of Edremit, 112 km from Balıkesir, and 125 km from Çanakkale. The south side of our school overlooks the sea, while the north side overlooks the Kaz Mountains. It is within walking distance of the sea and approximately 35 km from Kaz Mountain National Park. The vocational school building houses seven classrooms, one library, one computer, one chemistry laboratory, one botany laboratory, as well as a dining hall, a cafeteria, a study hall, and a small open-air amphitheater.
