End-of-Semester Academic Advising Meeting Held with Second-Year Students of the Chemical Technology Program

An End-of-Semester Academic Advising Meeting was held for the second-year students of the Chemical Technology Program at Altınoluk Vocational School, Balıkesir University. During the meeting, students were informed about their academic status, graduation requirements, career planning, and the Social Transcript System.

At the beginning of the meeting, students’ academic performance throughout the academic year was reviewed. The course, credit, and ECTS statuses of students approaching graduation were evaluated, and detailed information was provided regarding graduation requirements, internships, and practical training processes.

The meeting also included discussions on field applications, project studies, and the development of professional competencies. Students were informed about various career opportunities after graduation, including employment in laboratories, quality control, production, and research and development (R&D) sectors. Information was also provided on public sector employment opportunities, vertical transfer options to undergraduate programs through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS), and the importance of professional certification programs.

In addition, students were informed about the Social Transcript System implemented at the university. The importance of documenting students’ participation in social, cultural, sports, volunteer, and community engagement activities was emphasized. Students were encouraged to actively participate in such activities and were informed about the contribution of the Social Transcript to career development, employability, and curriculum vitae (CV) preparation.

At the end of the meeting, students shared their opinions and suggestions regarding the program, and their feedback was evaluated as part of the continuous improvement and quality assurance processes of the program.

The End-of-Semester Academic Advising Meeting aimed to support students in planning their graduation process, identifying career goals, and enhancing their professional and personal development.
