Beginning-of-Semester Academic Advising Meeting Held with Second-Year Students of the Chemistry Technology Program

A Beginning-of-Semester Academic Advising Meeting was held with the second-year students of the Chemistry Technology Program within the Department of Chemical and Chemical Processing Technologies at Balıkesir University Altınoluk Vocational School for the Spring Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the students have entered their graduation year and that this period is critical for completing professional competencies and program learning outcomes. Detailed information was provided regarding course loads, ECTS credits, prerequisite courses, and graduation requirements.

Students were also informed about the Field Practice and Project Course processes, including the selection of appropriate companies, determination of sector-oriented project topics, and reporting procedures.

Within the scope of career planning, employment opportunities in the private sector (laboratories, quality control, and production), public sector recruitment, and vertical transfer opportunities through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) were discussed. In addition, students were informed about the technical visits and sectoral events planned for the semester, and active participation was encouraged.

At the end of the meeting, students’ opinions and requests were received and recorded for evaluation. This advising meeting contributes to the continuous improvement process of the program within the framework of accreditation standards set by MEDEK.
